Inspired Artist
Diem Chau works in Seattle. She works with crayons, miniature pencils, and anything similar. A native of Vietnam, Chau and her family came to America as refugees in 1986 and would later receive a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts after which she began exhibiting her works in New York, Miami, Seattle and Los Angeles.
tinyhaus.blogspot.com Her work is inspiring to me because it shows that sculpture isn't necessarily large, it can be very very small and delicate. The sheer size of the sculpture alone is incredible. The idea that this is possible and has been done so well is fascinating. The fact that something as small as a crayon can be given a sculpture on its tip is amazing. |
